Luggage insurance covers up to €2,000 per person:
- In the event of theft by break-in or assault (robbery, threat with a knife, snatching, etc.)
- In the event of loss or damage to your baggage checked in by the airline
- In the event of total or partial damage occurring during the journey.
In the event of theft: you must lodge a complaint with the local police within 48 hours. The complaint must state the exact circumstances of the theft and the items stolen. Only the items declared on the complaint will be compensated.
In the event of loss or damage by the airline while the baggage is properly checked in: you must file a claim with the carrier within 24 hours. In this case, we will act in addition to the airline.
Please note: it is important to understand that baggage insurance does not cover everything, particularly loss of baggage or damage to equipment.
Example 1: I forget my bag on the train, which is not covered.
Example 2: I drop my camera, which is not covered.
Obviously this is not covered by our competitors either!
Remember that your luggage must always be under your direct supervision.
What objects are excluded from cover?
Certain objects are never covered, in particular cash, identity documents, glasses, credit cards, airline tickets, professional equipment, sports equipment (skis, bike, surfboard, etc.) and any consumables (cigarettes, medicines, cosmetics, etc.).
Please note: we only cover jewellery when it is worn on your person or locked in a safe.
