You are covered if you are obliged to cancel (or modify) your trip for a reason specified in the contract or as a result of a sudden, unforeseeable, justified event beyond your control (external).
You should be aware that, in all cases, the insurance will never operate for any reason known at the time you took out the policy.
Here are a few examples:
WHAT IS COVERED :
- My boss has changed my holidays at the last minute, even though he had agreed on them.
- I break my leg the week before my departure
- I receive an administrative summons that I didn't know about when I bought my trip
- You are denied boarding for your flight following a temperature check (non-refundable travel services covered, except for the flight you were denied boarding on)
- My passport is stolen 2 days before departure
- One of my uncles has just died
- My professional substitute is ill
WHAT IS NOT COVERED:
- In the end, I didn't feel like leaving and preferred to stay in Paris in the rain
- I forgot to renew my passport
- I don't have my visa to leave
- I bought my holiday without obtaining my boss's permission to take time off beforehand, and he refuses to give me my dates
- The tour operator cancels the trip (they have to reimburse you)
- The hotel I booked into can no longer offer me the room category I wanted. Because of this, I no longer see any reason to go.
- I cancelled because I had a cold. I didn't go and see a doctor to get a medical certificate.
