Information and medical insurance
Anyone arriving in France with a WHV must have taken out travel insurance. In theory, you do not need to register with the French social security system. However, if you are required to do so for work, you will have to apply to the CPAM (caisse primaire d'assurance maladie) or the MSA (Mutualité Sociale Agricole) if you are working in the agricultural sector.
You will need to take out insurance to cover your health care, hospitalisation and repatriation costs.
